Within life, you will more than likely experience some form of failure at some point. Many of the world’s most famous people have experienced failure at some stage in their life and they often highlight these incidences as a reason why they suceed.
The same principles should apply to you and in doing so, you can acheive and make anything you want to of your life.
Just to remind you all that the Wednesday Sports Club is up and running again next Wednesday (01/10/09). I am pleased most of you have signed up already but for those of you who haven’t, take advantage of this opportunity!
The obesity epidemic worldwide is escalating beyond control. This short video clip below gives an indication of the problem in the worlds most affected area, the U.S.A. This problem continues to get worse year by year and what’s even more worrying is that ‘childhood obesity’ is on the rise.
The incidence of obesity is also particularly common in Scotland where more than one third of Scotland’s 12-year-olds are now overweight with an alarming 19% classified as obese.
It is commonly known that a healthy diet coupled with regular exercise are tools which can control weight. This is only ONE of the reasons we in the PE Department encourage you to participate in as much exercise as is healthy. We are providing you with a host of sports and activities such as those on ‘Sports Day Wednesday’ and additional extra-curricular activities in the morning, lunchtime and after school (for example, football, volleyball, netball). The full list of activities will be posted around school soon.
We want to provide sports and activities that you enjoy. Therefore if you are interested in any of the activities or sports we offer…GET INVOLVED! Everyone is welcome!
If you are unsure about how to do this or have any questions/suggestions for activities/sports, you can pop by the PE department and speak to any member of staff.
I have set up this blog to help YOU through your PE class. It will allow online interaction between you, myself and your classmates.
The blog will be regularly updated with important information such as educational resources, homework tasks and upcoming events etc.
There are several pages on the blog of which are class specific and thus provide detailed information for each class (i.e. section for 3B1 and section for 4G3). Try to regularly check the blog and your particular class page as often as you can.
